The MAFA 2021 Conference Is Going Virtual!

September 17, 2020
Dear MAFA Conference Attendees,
In recent months pandemic numbers in many areas have not improved as much as hoped. Even though we are planning for a conference to be held next Summer, the feedback we have gotten so far from our members, volunteers, and instructors makes the idea of successfully hosting a large in-person conference seem unlikely and unwise.

The MAFA board has decided to plan a new virtual event for 2021 rather than canceling and having no conference next year. It WILL be different, and the committee is already hard at work on the details. We’re considering it “a glass half full of lemonade” since we hope many more members will be able to attend online.

We plan to keep our original dates, June 24-27, 2021, and to offer four days of lectures, short programs and classes, and some longer one or two day workshops. We will also have keynote addresses, exhibits, vendors, demos, informal gatherings, and more — all virtual. We will start rolling out details after the first of the year and registration will open early-Spring.

Please check back here in the coming months – we will add conference details as they are confirmed.  Or join the mailing list at the bottom of this page for emailed updates.

We ARE planning a virtual vendor marketplace, with an option for interaction with attendees in “virtual booths”, or a simple logo and link to your website.  The virtual vendor application is now open on the Vendors page.  The deadline to apply is March 31, 2021 or when we are full.
