Sponsorship Opportunities for MAFA 2021
Who are we?
MidAtlantic Fiber Association is a non-profit, all-volunteer fiber arts organization consisting of 50+ member guilds from upstate New York to North Carolina, with a combined membership of 3,000+. Our major benefit to members is a biennial conference, which in 2021 will be a VIRTUAL fiber arts event, with an estimated attendance of 500 – 1,500.
What are we doing?
MAFA 2021 will be held June 24-27, 2021. We’re planning four full days of virtual classes, lectures, and a vendor marketplace. Our 80+ classes break down as 50% weaving, 20% spinning, 10% dyeing, and 20% other including baskets, felting, pattern-making, spräng, braiding, and temari, all offered by a great lineup of nationally-known teachers. It’s sure to be different from our usual in-person long weekend of hands-on workshops, but we’re excited about the opportunity to engage more of our members and to promote attendance by a more diverse segment of the fiber arts community.
How you can help!
Sponsorships will give your organization visibility with our fiber arts-oriented event attendees. They will also help with the cost of presenting a virtual event, which in turn will keep registration fees accessible to more of our attendees. Event costs include: teaching and lecture fees; the online event platform with video conferencing; and registration costs. Any income we net above event expenses will help fund MAFA’s ongoing guild grants and fellowship program as well as other operating expenses.
Sponsorships due date EXTENDED TO May 15, 2021.
See below for our sponsorship levels, and find the Conference schedule here.
For more information please email the MAFA 2021 Donations Chair at donations@mafafiber.org.
Sponsorships will be confirmed at the discretion of MAFA leadership following these guidelines:
- Sponsors ideally will be fiber-related.
- Sponsors may also be MAFA-related, e.g our insurance carrier, bank, etc.
- Individuals who are members of MAFA may sponsor through their business.
We reserve the right to refuse/refund a sponsorship from Sponsors who are clearly incompatible with MAFA’s mission, e.g. no political or offensive groups/companies, or who are not either fiber or MAFA-related in any way, even if not otherwise offensive.
