Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em, with Cindra Kersher
Join us to learn about The Livestock Conservancy’s Shave ‘Em to save ‘Em Initiative (SE2SE). The Livestock Conservancy identifies twenty-four heritage breeds of sheep as endangered. Twenty-one of these breeds are wool sheep with a range of beautiful natural colors from bright white to tan, to grey, to deep black. Each breed has unique fiber qualities and characteristics making exploration a journey of curiosity and creativity. As a whole these breeds tell a living history of the development of fiber arts in North America. Come learn about these breeds, their wool and fiber and how you can discover them for yourself through the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em Initiative. Find out more here. Download a brochure.

About Cindra Kersher:
Cindra serves as a Program Coordinator for The Livestock Conservancy. Having been raised in a rural Pennsylvania dairy community, with extended family in both the dairy and scrapple businesses, Cindra fully appreciates small, family farms. While she adores cattle, she has personally raised several types of heritage chickens, ducks, Slate and Bronze turkeys, and St. Croix sheep. She has worked on a large diversified farm where she milked a herd of Jerseys, tended pastured poultry, St. Croix sheep, goats, and Ossabaw hogs and participated in on-farm, poultry processing. Cindra manages The Livestock Conservancy’s Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em Initiative and Breed Organization Accreditation Program. Cindra is also the host of “Wooly Wednesday”, a monthly Facebook Live fiber chat.
