Mix It Up 2: More Fun with Combining Color with Braids with Jillian Moreno
March 19, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$60.00 for Members / $70.oo for Non-Members
This class moves beyond the basics of spinning braids – more color, yarn constructions and fun!
A quick braid basics review will be given before diving into new explorations.
You’ll spin and sample some other yarn constructions, like spiral ply and cable ply, to see how braids look when your yarn is not a standard 2-ply.
If mixing up lots of braids isn’t exactly your style, we’ll spin braids using an anchor ply, and learn about intermittent yarns.
While you work on your yarns, Jillian will talk plies, what happens to color as you add more plies and why size of your yarn matters. She will explain color value, the tints, tones and shades of a color that can add depth and interest to your yarn but can also contribute to muddy looking yarn.
Finally, Jillian will take all of this color and braid knowledge and talk about planning a project with these styles of spinning braids.
