(115) Exploring Freestyle Weaving

Day One–Finding Your Weaver’s Heart: Learn to weave freestyle and free-spirited on a highly approachable and easy-to-use two-shaft  SAORI floor loom. Experience the form and function of this simple, timeless tool as you play with color, texture, and technique, using all sorts and shapes of yarn, fiber, fabric, ribbon, embroidery floss, and more. Practicing imperfection has never been so much fun!

Day Two–Weaving Towards a Project: As you continue your weaving journey, work towards creating yardage for a beautifully unstructured accessory to be sewn on your own after the class–a vest, a top, or a wrap. Experiment with various ways to add creativity and personal expression to warp and weft. Supplemental warps, interlaid and interlocked shapes, rya knots, loops and worms, and more await!

Day Three–Weave It and Wear It: On the final morning of the class, create a no-sew item directly on your loom–a textured bag with woven-in straps, a hat, or a hanging–then head home with your creative spirit refreshed.
