111 The Beauty of Crackle Weave

Crackle weave is sometimes forgotten among weavers, as the more popular Overshot and Twill take the forefront. In this class, we will delve into the basics of crackle weave in an orderly and easily understood manner. The goal is to introduce the weaver to the beauty of crackle weave as well as introduce them to different treadling options.

Color is an important part of the crackle weave. There are numerous options for color use in the warp and weft, with the added ability to incorporate even more color with the tabby thread. There will be numerous examples for the students to look at and handle.

The students will be given the option of a 4-shaft that will give them room to weave samples and finish with a scarf. This allows everyone to have a finished project that they can wear and show to others!
