MAFA Needs You!

Did you know that there are many ways in which to help out? See below for some ideas to become an active member within the MAFA community.

Here’s where we need help:

MAFA Representative or Alternate
As a MAFA Rep, you will be a pipeline of news for your guild; as well as, communicate ideas and questions back to MAFA. We hold virtual MAFA Reps meetings twice a year (in the spring and fall). Thus you will be helping MAFA and your guild. Find details on the Role of the Rep here.

If your guild already has a rep, maybe you could be an Alternate, who could step in and back up the representative when they can’t attend a meeting.  Check with your guild president, then contact the MAFA Membership Chair.

Conference Committee

The MAFA Conference is an all-volunteer effort, with many opportunities to get involved both before and at the conference. For more information on joining us in planning the next conference, please email the MAFA Conference Chair.

Communications
MAFA needs your expertise with social media posts. Additionally, we produce the MAFA Monthly newsletter, support guild websites, both our MAFA website and the conference website, produce graphics for social media, videos for our YouTube channel, and share news about MAFA events and classes. If you see yourself in any of these roles, contact the MAFA Communications Chair for more information.

Grants Committee Member
Do you have some experience with reviewing proposals? Or an interest to see how other guilds and individuals do outreach?  Contact the MAFA Grants Chair.

Testers
This job is not a regular one – but we are always in need of testers for something – a feedback form, a survey, new website design or content, conference registration, etc. If you’d like to be on call to help, contact MAFA’s Webmaster.

Board members
All of our Board members are volunteers who serve for two-year terms. For more information, look at the MAFA Operating Manual for job descriptions. If you know of someone who could be suitable, let us know! Contact our MAFA President.

Nominating Committee
Do you know a lot of people who would love to help out with MAFA? Are you good at contacting them? Volunteer for our Nominating Committee. Contact the MAFA President.
