101 Beginning Weaving

Discover the fundamentals of handweaving in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop. Over 2½ days, you will learn essential techniques while creating a structured sampler that can be finished as a wall hanging or table runner. The class covers dressing the loom, understanding basic materials, and developing consistent tension and workflow. You will explore reading weaving drafts, planning projects, and working with core weave structures, including plain weave and simple twill variations.

This sampler-based approach gives you a tangible piece to take home while building the knowledge and confidence to continue weaving independently. Each step connects technique with design, helping you understand how structure translates into beautiful, well-crafted cloth.
