Directions and Important Info for MAFA 2025

Once we arrive at the conference, if you need help or want to report a problem

  • If you have questions after reading through the FAQ’s and links, email the Help Desk at help@mafafiber.org.
  • Ask a MAFA Committee/Board Member with a red badge holder.
  • Text the hotline: 717- 876-8373
    We will not be able to answer calls, but if you text your issue and phone number we will call you back between 7 am and 10 pm. Remember we are all volunteers and may be setting up or in workshops ourselves. Please give us time to find a solution and get back to you.
  • If you have problems with your dorm room, your first stop should be the dorm check-in desk in each first floor lobby to alert Millersville University. If you can’t reach someone there, text the hotline.

Parking – No parking passes will be needed to park on campus after Noon on Wednesday. If you need to use accessible parking spaces but do not have a handicapped hang tag or plates, we will have MAFA placards available at the Info Desk.

Electric Vehicle charging info – scroll down on MU’s page here for a link to the charging station map. There are EV chargers in the parking lot at 34 James St, Millersville, PA, directly across from the Lombardo Welcome Center: maps.app.goo.gl/ChgKEu9Wb6uwHEi1A.

Wednesday Arrivals – look for an email before the conference with dorm key/meal card check-in information. You will still need to check-in at Registration on Thursday after Noon.

Late Arrivals – If an unexpected delay causes you to miss registration on Thursday, please email the Registrar at registrar@mafafiber.org for instructions.

Commuters Arriving on Friday – The registrar will be curbside in front of the SMC Bookstore (21 S George St, Millersville, PA), Friday, June 27, 7:45 – 8:45am. Drive by or walk up to check in and pick up your registration materials.

WiFi Instructions – There are two networks – one for the dorms and one for the rest of campus. WiFi info will be in your tote, or download the WiFi instructions HERE.

Vendor Hall – Plan your shopping visits, as well as fiber-related activities using the Marketplace map, available HERE. (link will be posted shortly before the conference)

Dining Hall Elevator Access – MU has assured us the elevator to the upper level dining hall will be unlocked for those who need elevator access.

Box Lunch Pick Up – Unless you opted out, plan to pick up your box lunch after Sunday Breakfast, 8:00 – 8:45 am, in the first floor lobby of the dining hall.

  • May 15: Deadline to apply for a Conference Fellowship.
  • May 21: Deadline to register for workshops and housing.
  • May 31: Deadline to enter the Fashion, Fiber Art, and Functional Textiles Exhibits.
  • June 13: Deadline to sign up for the Spinning Games.
  • June 13: Deadline to enter the Towel Exchange
  • June 13: Weekend Classes registration closes for Weaving. Registration will stay open for walk-ins for fiber prep, spinning, stitching, and rug hooking if spaces are available.
