MAFA is governed by the Representatives Assembly which meets two or three times a year, and by its Board of Directors, which operates the day-to-day operations of the Association.
The Board of Directors consists of five elected officers, and several additional officers who are appointed by the Board.
The governing document of the association is the Bylaws, last amended in May, 2016 by the Representative Assembly.
The Board also maintains a set of Standing Rules, used to document board policy and provide incoming board members with some insight into past operations. The Standing Rules may be changed at any time by a majority of the Board of Directors.
The Board has also defined several policies for the Association.
Lastly, the MAFA Operations Manual includes further detail on qualifications for and duties of the Board members and the representatives.
