Not taking a workshop? Visiting for the day? Join us for fiber arts classes in the Marketplace.
We have scheduled 15 half-day classes in fiber prep, spinning, weaving, stitching, and rug hooking on Friday afternoon and all-day Saturday for those not taking a full workshop. Come for the day, or stay overnight at MAFA!

- Registration for Weekend Classes will open March 1, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern, and will close June 13, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., or when a class is full. Find the Registration instructions and FAQs HERE.

713 Scandinavian Weaving on a Frame Loom, with Sara Bixler Join Sara Bixler for a workshop taking a look at the art of weft faced weaving on the frame loom. Each participant will learn how to warp and weave several different patterning styles of the Scandinavian tradition including, krokbragd, rib weave and more. | $75+ $65 | ||
714 How to Make a Quilt, with Sheryl Kessler Students will make a small quilt (approximately 6 inches) to learn the different steps in quilt-making by hand. Directions for patchwork, making the quilt sandwich, quilting, and binding will be given. | $75 | ||
715 Beginning Rug Hooking, with Cindy Irwin Learn the basics of rug hooking while making a 7″x7″ flower mat, perfect as a mug rug or trivet. Then we will explore the different styles and techniques of the craft. | $75 + $59 | ||

Registration Details for Weekend Classes:

- Online registration: All weekend class registrations will be online through RegFox. When registration opens for Weekend Classes, look for the GREEN “REGISTER FOR WEEKEND CLASSES” button on the MAFA conference website.
- You may only register one person per email address.
- Select one class per time slot.
- Fill in all personal info fields: Note the *required fields.
- Weekend Class Confirmation: You will only be able to register for a class if there is space in that class. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with your registered class and housing option.
- Waitlist: If the class you want is full, you can select it to be waitlisted. If a spot opens up in your waitlisted class, you will be notified. Only waitlist yourself in one class per time period.
- Review and accept the conference policies: Your registration will not be processed without your acceptance.
- Payment: Will be made online at the time of registration using any major credit/debit card, we are NOT accepting PayPal or checks for this conference.
- Materials fees: Will be paid to the instructor at the beginning of each class.
- Save your confirmation email: Your confirmation number will make logging in to modify your registration simpler. If you need to modify your registration and don’t have your number, click Resend Confirmation and it will be emailed to you.
- Changes, adding, or canceling classes: You can return to the registration site at any time to make changes. This may include adding or canceling a class. Please save your confirmation email as it will contain a link to access your registration.
- Cancellation and Refunds: Registrations for weekend classes may be canceled for a partial refund through June 13, 2025 by contacting the Weekend Classes Coordinator at classes@mafafiber.org. A processing fee of 25% will be deducted from your class refund. After June 13, 2025, class fees are non-refundable, however, in extenuating circumstances, a partial refund of the class fee may be possible if we can fill your space.
