Woodstock Weavers originally met in Woodstock, New York, which is where  Berta Frey lived and taught for many years. Judith Chase was her student and friend, and took over Frey’s classes when Frey passed away. She founded the guild with a small group of weavers in 1972 and continues to give us weaving wisdom.

In addition to regular monthly meetings, the guild sponsors workshops, study groups, exhibits, sales, and other activities. Our annual “challenges” have included exchanges, stash-yarn projects, projects that focus on a particular aspect of weaving (lace, the year), and others.

We meet in Port Ewen, New York (near Kingston) and draw members from both sides of the Hudson River.

We are pleased to support the Functional Textiles Exhibit this year.
