Opening Reception is Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm

The Weavers’ Guild of Buffalo was established in 1969 by a small group of women whose aim was to preserve the fiber arts through education, community and friendship and continues today with the same dedication and passion.

The exhibit will feature original designs of hand-woven, felted, hand spun and mixed media work by its guild members. Prizes will be awarded at the opening reception and many of the exhibited items will be available for sale.

The judge for the show will be Jozef Bajus. Jozef is an Associate Professor of Design and Coordinator of the Fiber Program at Buffalo State University. He holds an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava, Slovakia.
Jozef has taught fiber workshops at the American Craft Museum, Penland School of Art and Craft, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and many others.
