Donna Foley
Donna Foley has been a weaver and natural dyer, and after more than 30 years at the loom, she is still utterly fascinated with the entire process. She began weaving and natural dyeing in 1983; that same year Donna bought 25 acres of abandoned farmland. She immediately filled her new home with a loom, a spinning wheel, and a flock of sheep, and Four Directions Weaving was born. Donna received her B.A. in Art with a Fiber Arts concentration from SUNY Empire State College. For the last thirty years she has been showing her work in galleries and art shows and has taught classes at many venues including at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Blue Mountain Lake Center for Arts, Western New Mexico University, Grant County Artist Guild, and at regional conferences (IWC 2017) and nationally at Convergence (2022 & 2024).
Donna currently lives in beautiful Silver City, New Mexico, where she sells her contemporary Southwest tapestries and other weavings at art shows throughout the West, at Wild West Weaving Gallery in Silver City, as well as online through her website.
Her two passions are fiber arts and teaching!
