MAFA Update May 2025

MAFA 2025 is coming in June!

MAFA’s mission is to promote education in fiber arts. The biggest way we do that is through our biennial in-person conference. We’re just about six weeks away from the 2025 conference, so I want to feature it in this newsletter.

Registration for workshops and housing closes May 15. REGISTER NOW

MAFA is an all-volunteer organization, meaning the conference is planned and presented entirely by volunteers. Our conference committee is fairly small, but mighty. The committee works tirelessly, starting shortly after each conference, to plan the next conference. If you are interested in getting involved in planning the 2027 conference, let me know, or email conference@mafafiber.org.

We also especially need help from volunteers who attend the conference to make everything run smoothly once we arrive on-site. Scroll down for the link to sign up for volunteer slots.

We understand that a full four-day conference isn’t always possible, so we have planned new activities for day-trippers and overnighters, including a dozen half-day classes on Friday and Saturday, plus the option to stay overnight. We would also be delighted if you come visit for the day, shop our 30 vendors, and join in conference events open to the public. Registration for half-day weekend classes on Friday and Saturday will stay open until at least June 13, and we may be able to take walk-ins as well.

Remember, MAFA Virtual classes and lectures will take a break over the Summer, but Movie Nights and Book Group are still on the schedule in July and August. Classes return in September and registration is open now.
