Jockey Hollow Weavers
Weaving 120 and Weaving 139 Classes Sponsor
Jockey Hollow Weavers is celebrating its Ruby Anniversary this year. Our founders were so inspired by the first MAFA conference that they decided to form a new weaving guild in Morris County, New Jersey. Our guild now includes members from further afield, including Maine!
About the Guild
In the fall of 1981, ten fiber enthusiasts met to discuss the possibility of organizing a group of weavers, spinners and basket makers. They lived in and around the Morris County area of New Jersey. Their goal was to establish a guild for the purpose of studying and exchanging ideas and knowledge about their crafts. This was the beginning of Jockey Hollow Weavers. Since then our Guild has grown and includes novice and experienced practitioners of the fiber arts.
- The Guild has an extensive library of books, video tapes, periodicals and collections of fabric swatches. Members may borrow any of these items during a meeting.
- In addition, the Guild has a number of looms and weaving equipment and accessories available for rental on a month by month basis. This can be arranged at one of the meetings or contacting one of the board members.
