Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts

Week-long workshops, as well as a residency program designed to provide pre-professional, self-directed artists time and space to develop a major body of work.

John C. Campbell Folk School

The Folk School provides experiences in non-competitive learning and community life that are joyful and enlivening, and offers year-round weeklong and weekend classes for adults in craft, art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, nature studies, photography and writing.

Penland School of Crafts

An international center for craft education dedicated to helping people live creative lives. Penland offers one-, two-, and eight-week workshops in books, paper, clay, drawing, glass, iron, metals, photography, printmaking, letterpress, textiles, and wood. The school also offers artists’ residencies, local programs, and a gallery and information center.

Peters Valley School of Craft

We are a vibrant community, bringing together established and emerging artists from around the globe since 1970. Coming together to make things makes us better artists, able to to learn from each other, and to evaluate our own efforts in a wider context.

We provide studio-based educational workshops for life-long learners who have the opportunity to benefit from working with nationally and internationally-recognized artists.

Waterford Craft School

Immersive one- and two-day heritage craft classes and mini workshops. Connecting master instructors and students together in a preserved 19th c. village.

Yadkin Valley Fiber Center

The Center offers a variety of courses from local and visiting artists. Additionally, the Center also offers Master Weaving through Olds College.
