Ana Lisa Hedstrom

Ana Lisa Hedstrom is a surface design artist and educator who focuses on contemporary adaptations of Japanese shibori. Her signature textiles are in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt, the Museum of Craft and Design, the De Young Museum, and the Philadelphia Art Museum.
A frequent workshop instructor at conferences and craft schools, including Penland, Arrowmont, and Haystack, she has also been an instructor at SF State University and California College of Art.
Ana Lisa has produced five instructional DVDs on shibori and, during the pandemic, co-hosted with Yoshiko Wada an eight-week series titled Conversations with Cloth. She has received two NEA craftsman grants and is a fellow of the American Craft Council.
